The Ultimate Packing List for a Luxury Villa Getaway

A vacation should be all about relaxing, exploring, and creating beautiful memories. It shouldn’t be about panicking because you have forgotten your go-to sunglasses or your most comfortable shoes!

From packing oversized beach hats to 10 extra “just-in-case” clothes to that shirt that has not been worn in 5 years, we tend to overpack and usually end up lugging around the luggage. If you have booked your luxury villa getaway and feeling I don’t know if I have packed everything, this handy packing list for the getaway will put your mind at ease.  

Luxury vacation packing is different than backpacking because while you are backpacking, you want lighter luggage and comfortable, quick-drying clothes. But on a luxury vacation to a villa, you wouldn’t mind carrying a few extra accessories or some elegant clothes for a nice evening dinner. It makes a lot of difference because you are not always on the move. 

Now, here’s a packing list for your dream getaway: 

Firstly, you will need only a handbag, a duffle bag, and a wheeled bag. Nothing more than that!

Hand Bag:

Your handbag should have only essential items otherwise, you will end up spending a lot of time just looking for that one thing.

There won’t be any need to pack extra clothes because most luxury villas will have laundry services. You can wash your clothes whenever you wish to.

Except for makeup and deodorant, the rest are generally included in your villa stay. You can confirm with them before you pack.

That should cover all your travel essentials for a luxury villa getaway. But what are the non-essentials? What can you avoid packing?

Avoid packing these:

• Valuables- you do not want to pack your expensive jewelry or watches. You can never predict situations while traveling.
  
• Full-sized shampoo or conditioner bottles- these are usually given in all the stays but if you are particular, carry a travel-sized bottle.
  
• Formal wear- unless you have a business meeting or plan on going to a fancy dinner, do not pack it.
  
• Extra outfits- even one extra pair can be avoided because as said above, there’s laundry service available everywhere, and you might just shop from the local stores.
  
• Impractical shoes- you will never need them because while you head out you will stick to something comfortable and in the villa you might just wear your flip-flops.

Remember to pack clothes that suit your planned activities. 

Apart from these, carry your laptop, laptop charger, and charger for any other devices that you choose to take. It is always a good idea to have a portable charger with you and this comes under the “just-in-case” checklist. 

Some people might also carry a sleep mask and a neck pillow for travel. This is optional.
